13.06.2018 - GALAHAD NOMINATED FOR PRESTIGIOUS 2018 UK PROG AWARDS
Well, what a lovely and most unexpected surprise, we are so pleased and proud to announce that GALAHAD has been nominated for the 2018 UK PROG awards in the ‘UK Band/Artist of the year’ category. Whilst we are realistic and know that the chance of walking away with the main ‘prize’ is very slim due to some very stiff competition from some great bands, some with much larger fanbases, many of whom we know well and good luck to them all too, we are very pleased and honoured just to be considered and acknowledged for this prestigious and well regarded award.
Needless to say, if anyone would like to cast their vote in our favour, which would be very much appreciated, here is the link to the relevant web page in order to do so. http://loudersound.com/prog2018.
We would also like to this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us for so long and more recently purchased our new ‘Seas of Change’ record which, in all honesty, has exceeded all our expectations, especially in terms of critical acceptance from both fans and reviewers alike. Thus it seems that after what has been, at times, a very difficult few years for the band 2018 is turning out to be a great year for GALAHAD and we’re still only in June! ?
17.04.2018 - GALAHAD MEMBERS FEATURE HEAVILY ON NEW TWELFTH NIGHT 'FACT & FICTION' DEFINITIVE EDITION RE-ISSUE
This is not strictly Galahad news but our good friends Twelfth Night will shortly be re-issuing their seminal 'Fact & Fiction' album and what makes this one special is the fact that one of the 3 CDs which make up this release consists of cover versions of tracks which appeared on the original album.
Various current Galahad members appear on no less than SIX of these new versions including a new Galahad version of the track 'Fact & Fiction' which was performed many times by the band at early gigs back in the mid to late 1980s.
This very special release, which will be of interest to both Galahad and Twelfth Night fans alike, will be released some time in May 2018.
More information can be found on the official Twelfth Night website here:Twelfth Night official website
02.04.2018 - PROG MAGAZINE ISSUE 86 - GALAHAD INTERVIEW/SHOW REVIEW
Big thanks to Jerry, Johnny, Ross and PROG magazine for our interview in the latest edition (86 April) of PROG magazine. Very much appreciated. Although we would just like to clarify that we haven't had yet another line-up change and that our keyboard player is still Dean Baker (Dane Beaker) and not his imaginary brother Mark.
Thanks also to Matt Mills for the Southampton, Talking Heads gig review. Plus I'd just like to mention Peter Jones who played a gorgeous acoustic set beforehand and kindly let me have the honour of guesting with him on a couple of impromptu old Genesis beauties being 'Many Too Many' which used to be a Galahad staple in the early days of the band and 'Guide Vocal' which I've always wanted to perform and finally got a chance at last after all these years. :-)
07.02.2018 - A MESSAGE FROM GALAHAD
All of us in and associated with the band would just like say a massive, heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has pre-ordered and purchased our new 'Seas of Change' studio album. We have been blown away by the interest and response to the album which, effectively, is a comeback album after a pretty difficult couple of years or so. We really weren't expecting such a positive, heartwarming response.
We are so very proud of this album which has been a labour of love and is, in our opinion, an unashamedly no holds barred 'Progressive Rock' record, all 43 minutes of it (plus the CD edits of course)!
We also really appreciate the support from all those Galafans who have followed and remained faithful to us over the years and also would like to thank all those who are new to the band for giving us a chance and hopefully we will keep you on board in future.
We would also like thank everyone who has (mainly) given us such positive reviews/ratings and 'understood' what we were trying to get across and achieve.
Hopefully, we will see some of you at a few up and coming shows we have planned for this year and thank you in person.
Dates confirmed so far are as follows:
11 March – The Talking Heads, Southampton, UK with Peter Jones Tiger Moth Tales (acoustic) as special guest
17 March - Prog Rock Fest IV – Legionowo near Warsaw, Poland
28 April - Winter’s End Festival, The Drill Hall, Chepstow, UK
9 June - Mattfest, The Iron Horse, Sidcup, Kent, UK
22 June - Serious Music Festival, Alphen aan Den Rijn, The Netherlands
1 December - Danfest, The Musician, Leicester, UK
Hopefully there will be more to follow...:-)
17.12.2017 - 'SEAS OF CHANGE' PRE-ORDERING NOW OPEN
We at Galahad Towers are very pleased and proud to announce the release of our new studio album ‘Seas of Change’, which is the follow up to the 2017 ‘Quiet Storms’ album which contained fifteen short(ish) tracks and was a much more mellow affair whereas ‘Seas of Change’ is the polar opposite and consists of just one forty three minute track which twists and turns creating, what we think is, a full on no holds barred prog/rock rollercoaster of an album.
‘Seas of Change’ is a kind of hybrid in terms of musical style, featuring more traditional, occasionally pastoral, elements reminiscent of the ‘older’ Galahad sound whilst also incorporating the heavier guitar and more modern ‘techno’ keyboard sounds of the last few studio albums.
‘Seas of Change’ is also the first album to feature Lee Abraham on all guitars following his re-joining of the band in the Spring of 2017. Lee is already familiar to the band and a fully paid up part of the Galahad family having been the band’s bass player from 2005 to 2009 and appearing on one of their most critically and commercially successful albums ‘Empires Never Last’ as well as on a couple of live albums.
We feel that Lee has added his own stamp and expanded the Galahad sound palette whilst still retaining the Galahad feel and overall sound.
‘Seas of Change’ is also Tim Ashton’s first appearance on a Galahad album containing completely brand new material since he appeared on ‘Nothing Is Written‘ back in 1990!
As ever the album was pulled together mixed and mastered by engineer/producer extraordinaire Karl Groom (Threshold/Dragonforce/Pendragon/Arena etc.) at Thin Ice Studios in Surrey.
Musically, ‘Seas of Change’ features just the five main Galahad members plus long term honorary member Sarah Bolter who makes an appearance on flute, clarinet and soprano sax.
This album will be available in several formats including three 24 bit mastered vinyl LP versions i.e. a standard black 180g in a gatefold cover, a turquoise 180g LP in a gatefold cover plus a special, rather lovely and very limited edition full colour picture disc which will be available in an unusual die cut sleeve. All vinyl LP orders will also come with an enclosed CD version of the album.
‘Seas of Change’ will be available to pre-order directly from our official band website (www.galahadonline.com/merchandise) on Monday the 18th December 2017, The CD version will be officially released on 15th January 2018 followed by the download version (available from our Bandcamp page at: https://galahad1.bandcamp.com/ ) on 29th January 2018 followed by the Vinyl LP versions soon after, dates TBC. CD Pre-sale orders will be sent out during the first and second week of January 2018, vinyl LPs will follow in due course.
There will also be various ‘bundle’ deals available to order from our website merchandise page, however, if anyone would like to order a variation not listed on our merchandise page feel free to get in touch to tell us what you’d like and we will get in touch and give a bespoke quote, as long as the items are in stock of course.

23.10.2017 - NEW GALAHAD GUITARIST OFFICIALLY REVEALED
GALAHAD – OFFICIAL STATEMENT
We are very pleased and proud to announce that our new guitarist is, in fact, our old bass guitarist. Ladies and gentlemen we give you Lee Abraham.
We are all very excited at the prospect of Lee, once again, being a fully fledged member of the Galahad family. He has already contributed all the guitars to our brand new, soon to be released, ‘Seas of Change’ album.
Not only is Lee a very accomplished guitarist in his own right, we also believe that Lee will give us many more options in terms of our writing and general creative output, plus he is also very passionate about writing, recording and performing music in general.
We are very much looking forward to organising and playing live shows with our new re-vitalised line up in due course.
The good ship Galahad is sailing again…….

More shows both in the UK and abroad will be announced in the next few weeks.

20.08.2017 - Seas of Change ready for mixing
'Seas of Change' is now all recorded and ready for mixing. More exciting times for Galahad!
'Seas of Change' consists of only one forty two minute track which incorporates many changes of tempo, mood and style and we think it also represents a kind of hybrid of the older, earlier traditional Galahad 'sound' mixed with the more modern heavier, 'techno' orientated sound of the last few albums. Hopefully, it'll include something to appeal to all Galahad fans and fans of 'Progressive' rock in general.
Hopefully, this album will be released towards the end of 2017. More news to follow in due course as far as ordering is concerned.
